Enrico J.(Harry) Colella

COLELLA, ENRICO J. ( HARRY) of Daytona Beach, FL., passed away on November 4, 2017.  He was born March 1, 1932 in Auburn, N.Y.  Harry moved to Daytona Beach in 1996 after many years of vacationing with his wife Martha  and brother  Frank.  He was a Marine Corp Veteran of the Korean War ( 1952-1955), and was self-employed in the produce/grocery business for many years.  He retired as a Senior Compensation Investigator with the State Insurance Fund in Syracuse N.Y. after 25 years of service.  He was a member of the Saint Francis of Assisi Parish in Auburn and present member of the Church of the Epiphany parish in Port Orange. He was a long time member of the American Legion Post 1776 in Auburn and Aerie #4469 in Daytona Beach Shores.  His greatest enjoyment was listening to the music, singing and antics of Eddie “Fast Eddie” Uzzel. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Martha, who ensured Harry was able to remain at home until his passing.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by his Son Christopher  Colella Auburn,  Daughter, Michele ( Doug) VanGiesen  Auburn and son John ( Katie) Colella of Macedon, N.Y. , grandchildren, Lexi and Samantha Colella, Jessica and Ali VanGiesen, and Dustin Colella, his brother-in-law John Sawran of Auburn, and a very special nephew and lifelong  best friend,  Joe Colella of Daytona Beach.  He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.   Harry was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Marie Colella, his sister, Mary Sawran, and brothers,Frank and Anthony.

A celebration of Harry’s life will be set in the near future.
