Gertrude D. (Doney) Greule

Gertrude D. Greule, 91, of Nacogdoches, TX and formerly of Auburn, passed away on October 5, 2017 after a long illness.

Gertrude was born May 16, 1926 in Auburn, NY to the late Washburn and May Doney. After graduating from Union Springs High School, she attended SUNY Geneseo.  She was employed with Bowen Products and with the Auburn Housing Authority before becoming a homemaker after her marriage.

Gertrude was a talented seamstress making many articles of clothing for her family.  She also served in various American Legion and DAV Auxiliaries in the Auburn area.

In addition to her parents, Gertrude was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Maynard Greule; a brother Edward Doney; and daughter-in law Diane S. Greule.

Mrs. Greule is survived by her son Dr. Alan (Al) Greule; grandchildren Andrew and Ashlyn Greule all of Nacogdoches, Texas; and several nieces and nephews survive Gertrude.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, October 10 at 11 AM at the Heieck-Pelc Funeral Home, LLC 42 E.Genesee St. Auburn, New York with Funeral Service to follow at Noon. Burial to follow in Fort Hill Cemetery.
