Jean (Stubbs) Hemans            

Jean Hemans passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 11, 2018 at her home in Boyle Center, Auburn, NY, surrounded by her family. Jean was born October 17, 1926 and married Charlie Hemans on New Year’s Eve, 1946. She is survived by her sons, John (Anna), Larry, Chuck (Marge), Thom (Francine), and daughter Peggy Lynn (Dan Duggan), 13 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She was a communicant at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Auburn for many years, sang in the choir and served on the altar guild. Jean loved swimming and used it as therapy to rehabilitate after a stroke at age 44. She loved all kinds of music and could often be found singing along at Boyle Center activities, or one of her children’s concerts. Jean loved the Adirondack mountains, especially the fall colors.

Calling hours will be held at the Heieck – Pelc Funeral Home at 42 Genesee Street, Auburn, NY from 5-7 PM on Thurs., May 31, 2018. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to send condolences are asked to make a donation to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021, www.hospiceofthefingerlakes.org  Jean and her family are grateful for the care provided by Dr. Kristen Pfau, Hospice of the Finger Lakes, and Shannon Sherwood.
