Marilyn J. Signor born on August 22, 1931 to Delmar and Mildred Stowell Jorgensen in Cato, NY
has died on Tuesday the 12th of February at the Commons.
She was one of 18 children. She was married to Richard J. Signor Sr. for 44 years. Together they had 9 children, and owned and operated Dick's Party House for many years. They made many memories and friends there, many of whom they considered family... Marilyn also owned and operated Frontenac restaurant in Union Springs. She worked at TRW, was a Union Steward there as well, retiring in July 1994.
Mrs. Signor was predeceased by her parents, Delmar, and Mildred Jorgensen ,one daughter Marilyn "Janet" Signor, her siblings Eugene Jorgensen, Virginia Jorgensen ,Robert Jorgensen and his wife Valerie, Kenneth and his wife Shirley, Gerald (Marilyn),Theodore, Beverly Shaw (Gene), Dorothy Kratzer, her husband Gene, June Ryan (Robert) Penny Salls (Jim) ,and Sandra Jorgensen. She was also predeceased by her, granddaughter Kasey Jane Signor, grandson Owen R. Signor, and son-in-law Robert Cherchio.
Marilyn bowled for many years in the City Country bowling league at Starlite lanes .She was a member
Of Trinity United Church in Christ in Union Springs, and was a lector there. She enjoyed many years as a member of the American Legion Post 1107 Ladies Auxiliary , and the Moose Club in Zephyrhills, FL ., where she spent 19 winters. Marilyn also volunteered at the Matthew House, SCAT Van and Hospice of Tampa, FL.
Marilyn is survived by eight of her children. William H. Signor (Mary), Richard J. Signor Jr. (Virginia),
Cathleen A. Tezyk (Gerard Dygert), Lynne M. McPeters (Brian), Charmaine M. Bowers (Jim), Denise M. Hurd (John), Susan I. Bell (Don), and Tina M. Cherchio. From these children she has 69 grand and great grandchildren.
Marilyn also leaves behind her siblings, Claudia Rouse (Ken), Maxine Martens (Robert), Roger Jorgensen (Rusty), Glenn Jorgensen (Sandy), James Jorgensen (Ghai), and John Jorgensen (Ida), as well as 52 nieces, and nephews.
Services for Marilyn will take place at United Trinity Church in Christ in Union Springs on Saturday February 16, 2019 at Noon. Visitation for family and friends will commence at 11:00 a.m.
