Richard O. Wertman II

Richard O. Wertman, II, 56, of Union Springs, New York, passed away on July 5, 2017 unexpectedly at his home.

Richard  was born in Auburn, New York on January 5, 1961. He graduated from Union Springs Central High School in 1979 and went on to carry on the family tradition as a master carpenter and cabinet builder for more than 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, watching TV, and spending time with his friends and family. He was actively involved as a member of the American Legion in Union Springs, New York.

Richard is lovingly remembered by his two surviving children, Zachary Wertman and Kasey Wertman,  his father, Richard Wertman Sr and his wife Joyce, his sisters, Donna O'Hara and her husband Brian, Deborah Hendrick, Paula Blay, Penni Goodwin and her husband Chris, his brothers, William Wertman, Scott Szakaly and his wife Jennifer, several step sisters and brothers,  nieces, nephews; and many other relatives and friends.



Richard is preceded in death by his mother, Diana Ramper; as well as his brother Ronald Wertman.



At Richard's request, no services will be held, however a celebration of his life will be held Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 1-5p.m. at the American Legion, 8 Schobey St, Union Springs, NY  13160.
