William "Bill" A. Baker

William A. Baker, 82, of Auburn passed away May 2, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at his home.

Bill was born in Auburn the second eldest of thirteen children of Harold and Agatha Baker. He was the operations / Safety manager of Barr Transportation of Auburn, until his retirement in 2008. He served in the Army National Guard and was a lifetime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Bill was a devoted catholic of St. Mary’s church.

Bill and his wife Jane were avid golfers and members of Highland Golf Club for 38 years and is also where Bill having shot two hole in ones. Bowling was also a passion of his with being a two time Senior Master’s Champion.

Mr. Baker was a man with strong integrity and very loyal to his family and friends. He was an exceptional example of what a husband and father should be; especially in his marriage to Jane of 62 years.

In addition to his wife Jane, he is survived by three sons and one daughter. Bill Jr. and his wife Dawn, Kevin (Carol Schillace), Tim Baker; Tammy Stoneburg and husband Keith. Six grandchildren Jeremy Baker (Stacey Dorchester), Brian Baker (Nicole Denning), Greg Baker (Amanda Tarolli) , Baile Baker, Kassidy and Konner Stoneburg, and five great-grandchildren, Troy, Trevor, Cole, Ava and Mia. Bill is also survived by his siblings, Sister Beverly, SSJ., Peg Moulton (Butch),Joan Clingerman, Bonita Baker (her husband Dom Balistreri), Sharon Hudson (Joel), David (Donna), John (Kathy), Gerard (Jeannen) Baker. Dozens nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Bill was predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Edward, George and one sister Mary Elizabeth.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday May 7, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. in the Heieck – Pelc Funeral Home, LLC 42 E.Genesee St. Auburn. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Tuesday May 8. 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
