Port Byron- Barbara Jean VanDitto, 90, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Auburn Community Hospital. Barbara Jean was born in Auburn to the late Alex VanDitto and Barbara (Orlando) VanDitto. Barbara Jean graduated from Port Byron High School in 1953 as Valedictorian and soon started her 35 year career with Marine Midland Bank. After that she became Village Clerk for the village of Port Byron, retiring from there after several years. She then became caregiver for her brother Peter until his passing. She was very involved at St. John's Church in Port Byron for many years until its closing and also a member in the Port Byron Senior Citizens and Red Hat Ladies
.She is survived by her special cousins Tish (Gary) Gibson, Patty (Greg) McCoski, Linda (Scott) Landers, Mary Anna (Brandon) LaFave & their 3 children, Angelina (Nik) Sanzotta & their 2 children, Jennifer (Matt) White, Beth Landers, Katie (Derek) Koster & their 2 children, Kevin (Rachel) McCarthy & their 2 children, & Joe (Ashley) McCarthy & their 2 children and Anne (Bill) Belknap.
In addition to her parents and her brother Peter, she is predeceased by her cousins Mary Conley, Patty Conley Barrows, Mary Jean (Barrows) McCarthy, and Steve Barrows.
Calling hour will be 10:30-11:15 in St. Joseph's Church in Weedsport with mass following @ 11:30 and a luncheon will follow in the downstairs hall in church.
Donations made be made to the Port Byron Fire Dept. and St. Joseph's Church.
