Brooke Juaquina Zapanta - Cooper

It is with great sadness that the family of Brooke Juaquina Zapanta-Cooper announce her unexpected and untimely death, on Friday, November 11, 2022 in Oswego Hospital.

        Brooke was born on November 10, 1995 in Oswego, New York, the daughter of Rhoel and Rebecca. Six years later, she became a big sister to Makayla, who she took incredible pride in raising for a significant part of her life. She went on to graduate from Hannibal High School in 2013, where she had first met the love of her life, Josh. Brooke and Josh were married on September 12, 2021. Brooke’s stepson, Caden, helped to form her “little family” that she was so proud of, though the word “step” held no bearing on the immense amount of love that Brooke had for Caden. Brooke and Josh were both thrilled to be expanding their family further with their unborn child.

       Along with her family, Brooke loved all of her animals, including Putts, Dude, Pretty, Luna, and her fish. She loved spending time with her father (first love/best friend), finding crystals, cooking, and being outdoors, in the water and sand, hiking, walking, and exploring. Brooke was known as a straight shooter who nurtured and looked out for others, as is shown by the number of people reaching out just to say how much she impacted their lives.

       Brooke is survived by her husband and soul mate, Joshua Cooper; son, Caden; her sister and best friend, Makayla, father Rhoel Zapanta (Jena La Douce); her mother Rebeca Radley; paternal grandmother Ofilia Zapanta, maternal grandmother JoAnn Webber; numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends that were family, Christopher Thieringer, Amarissa Sierra, Sarah Otis, and Emily Anne Bean. Brooke is also survived by more friends too numerous to name.

       Brooke was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Roland Zapanta, and her maternal grandfather, Gordon Nodine, as well as her beloved pets Michael, Sheldon, Bandit, and Artemis.

       Brooke’s memory will never be forgotten, as she lives on in all of the lives she touched.

       Calling hours will be Saturday November 19, 2022 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm, with private funeral services immediately following at James A. Menter Funeral Home, 510 Erie St., Fulton, New York 13069.
