Clinton T. Rinkle, “Rambo” 61, of Auburn NY died peacefully in his home after a short illness.
He was born in LaPorte, IN the son of John and Carol Rinkle coming from a large family growing up in Colorado with 12 siblings
He was the husband of Bernadette Rinkle (Heim) for over 13 years.
He is survived by his wife Bernadette,siblings James Rinkle, Patrick Rinkle, Scott Rinkle, Lori Elrod (Rinkle), Catherine Acra (Rinkle). Step-children, Kelly Ackerman Rafia, Darlene Butterfield, Catherine Worden and Ray Ackerman. Several Grandchildren, great –grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Clinton was an avid athlete climbing Pikes Peak over a dozen times during his younger years, had a passion for Formula One Racing and attended racing school to become a certified race car driver. He was a past employee of NUCOR Steel for over 33 years of service and was their head machinist for several years.
Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Thursday April 9, 2015 in St. Alphonsus Church at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours for Rambo will be on Wednesday April 8, from 3-5 pm in the Heieck – Pelc Funeral Home, LLC 42 E. Genesee St. Auburn, NY .
In lieu of flowers family has requested memorial contributions to Hospice of the Finger Lakes.
