Cynthia Groom Obituary

Cynthia "Cindy" Groom, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 in Owasco, NY, on May 20, 2024. Born on June 2, 1949, in Auburn, NY, she led a life marked by passion, joy, and an unwavering dedication to her loved ones.

Cindy's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of her enduring love and the countless lives she touched. She was the cherished wife of Fredrick Groom, with whom she shared a remarkable journey of 58 years, filled with laughter, support, and mutual respect. Together, they built a family that was her pride and joy.

A devoted mother, Cindy was an endless source of strength and guidance for her sons, Dale and James Groom. Dale and his wife, Samantha, blessed Cindy with the gift of being a grandmother to Alexis and Trevor, while James and his wife, Valerie, expanded that joy with Vennessa, Stephen, Michael, and Rebecca. Her role as a grandmother further blossomed with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, Wyatt, James, and Joyner Groom, who all knew her as the epitome of love and warmth.

Cindy's large family extended to her 11 brothers and sisters, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond and countless cherished memories. Her siblings will remember her as the heart of the family, always there to celebrate their triumphs and support them through challenges.

A woman of many interests, Cindy found solace and happiness in listening to music, which was a constant companion throughout her life. However, her greatest pleasure was found in the simple moments spent with family and friends. Cindy's presence turned every gathering into a celebration of togetherness, and her absence will be deeply felt at every family table.

Those who knew Cindy will forever remember her as a loving, kind, and passionate soul. Her empathy and compassion knew no bounds, and she had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel valued and loved. Cindy's legacy is one of unconditional love, a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

As we say goodbye to Cynthia Groom, we celebrate a life that was lived with an open heart and open arms. We take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear and the love that she so freely gave. Cindy's journey on earth may have ended, but her influence will be felt for generations to come.

In keeping with Cindy's love for her family, a private gathering will be held to honor her life and the immeasurable impact she had on each of us. Her light will never dim in the hearts of those who loved her, and her memory will be cherished forever.

We bid farewell to a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Cindy's story is one of a life well-lived and a love well-given. Though we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the incredible woman she was and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Rest in peace, dear Cindy; your love will always be our guiding star.
