Donna C. Passarello of Auburn passed away Sunday December 13, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born and raised in Auburn where she graduated from East High School in 1949 and CCBI in 1950. Over the years Donna was employed as a legal secretary for Burke W. Drummond, George Iocolano, and David Weinstein. She was also a secretary to the administrator of the Cayuga County Nursing Home. Upon her retirement in 1996 she worked for William Catto, Public Health Director.
Donna’s favorite pastime was being an escort volunteer for the SCAT Van of Cayuga County. Donna was an amazing baker and her family and friends looked forward to receiving her gift of cookies during the holidays. Donna was fortunate to have many friends with whom she shared many enjoyable moments and memories. Her most treasured time was the time she spent with her family. She will be greatly missed by her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Passarello is survived by her three sons Mark (Betsy), Brian (Tina) and Thomas (Denise). Her grandchildren Brennan Covert, Joshua, Carly, Nicholas, and Thomas W. Passarello. Her great-grandchildren Brian and Lucas Covert, and Joshua Smith, She is also survived by three brothers Gary, Robert, and Terry (Trudy) Colbert and several nieces and nephews.
Donna was a devoted catholic and a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church. Per Donna’s request there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian burial at St. Alphonsus Church, Friday December 18, 2015 at 10:00 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fleming. NY.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Donna’s memory to the SCAT Van of Cayuga County 17 Nelson St #3 Auburn, NY. Of whom she was an avid supporter or Hospice of the Finger Lakes 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY.
Donna’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all of Donna’s caregivers these last several months, especially Cyndi (her angel), Amanda, and her Hospice caregivers Amy, Tammy, Jill and Kim.
