John Noga, Jr. Obituary

John R. Noga Jr., lovingly known as Rusty, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 28, 2025, at the age of 69.

Born on March 11, 1956, Rusty was the beloved son of the late Sophie Noga and John R. Noga Sr. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Timothy Noga and Michael “Mico” Noga.

Rusty is survived by his daughter Jonni Lynn Noga, and his cherished stepdaughter, Cheyenne Smith. He leaves behind his wife, Laurie A. Noga, and his life partner, Mary E. Jones, who each held a meaningful place in his heart.

A proud veteran, Rusty served in the U.S. Navy before dedicating much of his life to hard, honest work. Whether it was lawn care, carpentry, or contracting, he gave his all with integrity and dedication. Rusty was known for his incredible kindness and selflessness—he would give the shirt off his back for someone in need and was always willing to lend a hand. He never had a harsh word for anyone and believed in treating people with compassion and respect.

Rusty is also survived by his brothers Mark, Steve, Allyn and his sister Theresa Noga - Starnick, four grandchildren, four nieces, two nephews, and several great-nieces. He was especially close to his daughter Jonni’s best friend, Courtney Tolbert, whom he loved like a daughter.

To Jonni, he was not only a father but a hero, and to all who knew him, he was a man of quiet strength, warmth, and generosity. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A celebration of life will be held on May 10th from 2-5 at the Calimeri Post, in Auburn NY.
