Josephine M. Rabuano of 81 South Street, Westminster Manor, Auburn, NY widow of the Late Nicholas M. Rabuano Sr. passed away peacefully Monday evening September 14, 2015 at The Matthew House following a brief illness.

Since October 2008, Josephine lived at Westminster Manor until July 26, 2015  were she loved, enjoyed, all her friends and the staff members who were so wonderful to her during her stay there. " Jo" as she was affectionately known fought very hard the last two years to maintain her independence to be able to stay at Westminster Manor. She was able to do so with the loving care, compassion, and kindness shown to her by her daughter Aileen, son Nicholas and her grandson Michael Jr (Robert) and the staff.

Josephine was born in Auburn, NY to the Late Antonio and Antoinetta Cosentino Morabito. She was a loving, caring, kind, compassionate, gracious, generous, and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great- Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and friend to the many that crossed her life's path. Jo was a longtime Member of the former St. Aloysius Church, where she enjoyed the many hours helping with the bingo program. In recent years, while at Westminster she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

Josephine retired from the Dunn & McCarthy Shoe Factory where she worked till she was 70 years old.

Surviving Josephine are her loving and devoted daughter and caregiver Aileen R. Jasniewski and her loving and devoted grandson and caregiver Michael Jasniewki (Robert Radford), her sons, Joseph(Trish), Nicholas(Ann) David, and her canine grandson Ralph, Her grandchildren, Brian(Sue) Rabuano, Julie(Gregg) Barnes, Bill(Mandy)Rabuano, Nicole Ganter, Lesley(Chris) Barber, Erica L. Pidlypchak, David(Jolene) Rabuano, Jamie(Brian)Casey, Kristen(Keith) Hutchings. And her great- grandchildren, Brittany& Dan Rabuano, Nicholas, Louie, Olivia Fisher, Michael & Jack Pidlypchak, Brooke, Nina, Nolin Rabuano, Rocco and Cecilia Rabuano. Her cousin with whom she resided, Laura Morabito Velardi, and also survived by Sandra Rabuano, and Beth Rabuano.

Josephine was Predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Nicholas M. Rabuano Sr. in 2003, Her beloved Sister, Theresa Morabito in 1999, and her son in law, Michael Jasniewski Sr. in 2010 and her other siblings, Frank, Sam, Carmen, Joseph, Nate, and Anthony Morabito.

Per Josephine's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Friends and Family are invited to her Memorial Service at Sacred Heart Church, 81 Melrose Rd, Auburn, at 1 p.m. Friday September 18, 2015 with the Rev. Richard J. Kapral officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

The Family would like thank all the staff members at Westminster Manor, The Finger Lakes Center for Living for the care they provided during her brief stay, and a Special Thanks to the staff & Volunteers at Matthew House.
