Joyce M. Wallace, 80 was granted her angel wings on Tuesday December 9, 2014 with her final days spent surrounded by her family at home.
Joyce was born in Auburn on September 8, 1934 the daughter of Adelbert and Netti (Adams) Armstrong.
She retired from Auburn police department as a matron and as a school crossing guard. She all so worked as Cayuga County Park Ranger at Emerson Park, where she was known as "lil" Sarge. She volunteered for the Cayuga County auxiliary police.
Her favorite pastime she loved was to play bingo and Yahtzee.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Wallace (Bill O'Hara) and Donna Lynn (Marty), and a son Robert Wallace. Her grandchildren Melissa Lynn-Carpenter (Scott), Shawn Lynn and Christopher Wallace. One great- grandchild Elizabeth Lynn.
Her brother Wilbur Armstrong (Ruth), a sister Eleanor May and a wonderful sister in-law Deidre Seamans.
She is all so survived by special friends Billy Gronau, Tami and Karen Squires, and the Guzewicz family. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded by her husband Raymond L Wallace, a son Ronald Wallace, a daughter Kathleen Wallace, grandson Timothy Lynn, two sisters Patricia Trillo and Barbara Walpole and her best friend Ann Guzewicz,
Family and friends are invited call on Thursday December 11, 2014 from 4- 6 p.m. in the Heieck – Pelc Funeral Home, LLC 42 E. Genesee St. Auburn. Funeral services for Joyce will be conducted on Friday December 12, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Joyce will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery next to her husband Ray.
