Lawrence R. Porter

Lawrence Robert Porter (70) of Auburn NY passed away on January 11, 2016 peacefully with his loving family by his side.
Mr. Porter’s memorial service will be held on Saturday January 16, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Heieck-Pelc Funeral Home, LLC 42 East Genesee Street Auburn, NY with Dr. LeRoy Kettinger  officiating.
Lawrence was born in Auburn NY on August 15, 1945. He graduated from Union Springs High School, he also graduated from the National Tractor Trailer School in Liverpool, NY. Lastly he also served in the United States Navy from 1963 thru 1964.
Lawrence was married to Cindiann L. (Tanner) Porter on August 12, 1978. They were married for 37 years.
Lawrence worked at Beacon Milling Company, and preceded to work as a truck driver for numerous years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, camping, fishing, bowling, playing cards, and a nice hot cup of coffee.
Lawrence is survived by his four children Sharon Porter (George Jones), Richard and Maria Porter, Rebecca and Felicia Porter, Victoria Porter, along with his nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his family and friends.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents Emmett O. Porter and Mary E. (Smith) Porter, his sister Arlene M. Miller, his brother Charles O. Porter, and his son Eugene R. Porter.
