Lester E. (Lee) Brew III

Lester E. (Lee) Brew III, 77 died May 20, 2025 born 7/10/1947 Auburn, NY to Lester Brew Jr. and Alice Bennett Brew.

He graduated from Webster Academy, Webster, Mass. He earned his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Tusculum University, Greeneville, Tenn. Mr. Brew also received his certification (CPPB) as a certified Professional Buyer from the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing. Mr. Brew was employed by the County of Cayuga for 31years serving as Deputy County Clerk, Deputy Clerk of the County Legislature and Purchasing Agent and served 15years as Clerk of the Cayuga County Legislature.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Farrelly Brew of Montezuma, stepson Todd Moore (Beth) of Oswego, two grandchildren Mason J. Moore and Brynn E. Moore of Oswego. Two sisters Sara B. Long of California and Muriel B. Doeing (Gerard) of Fairmount, NY, two nieces Elizabeth A. Occhipinti (Jason) of Rome, Jennifer S. Doeing of Syracuse, one nephew Luke R Doeing (Shannon) of Syracuse and one grandnephew Milo J. Doeing of Syracuse and his beagle, Hudson.

Mr. Brew served 12 years as a Montezuma Town Board Member and two years as Deputy Supervisor of the Town of Montezuma, 49-year member of the Cayuga County Republican Committee, serving 3 years as Committee Chairperson. Past President of the Auburn Jaycee, Owasco-Fleming Kiwanis Club, former Board Member and driver for the SCAT van, Life Volunteer and former Trustee for Auburn Elks Lodge #474, Volunteer and former Treasure and Board Member of the Port Byron Library, Former Board Member of Hospice of the Finger lakes, Life member Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, Senate member, Communicate of the Episcopal Church of SS Peter & John.
