Louis Paul Alfieri Sr., 89, of Perrine St., passed away peacefully at his lifelong home on Friday, November 28, 2014. Lou was a WWII disabled veteran who served proudly in northern Italy and western Africa and was a recipient of two Purple Heart Medals. He was a retiree from General Electric and Clambake Specialists.
Lou sought great joy in his family and friends, he touched the lives of those he met and will be fondly remembered by many as a special fatherly-friend. His past-times included bowling, fishing and visiting the casino. He was a member of the DAV and American Legion SK Post 1324.
Lou was predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Madeleine and three brothers, Michael, Andrew, and Daniel. He is survived by three children, William (Donna), Louis (Linda), and Linda Nervina, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at St. Francis Church at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Burial will be in St Joseph’s Cemetery with military honors. Calling hours for Mr. Alfieri will be on Monday Dec.1, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. in the Heieck – Pelc Funeral Home, LLC 42 E. Genesee St. Auburn, NY.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Louis and Madeleine Alfieri Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund, in care of the Cayuga Community College Foundation, 197 Franklin St., Auburn, NY, 13021 in memory of Lou.
