Obituary

Marilyn J. Spears, 90, long time resident of Cato, NY passed away Friday surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Syracuse, NY on June 2, 1932 the daughter of the late Charles and Elsie (Arroway) Cole. Early in Marilyn J. (Cole ) Spears

her working career, she was employed by GE and the Cato School District which she had worked for over 17 years before retiring. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family. She was always in the kitchen cooking for whoever came to her house.

 Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be missed by her family.

 Surviving Marilyn are her children; sons, Herbert, Michael, and Edward Spears. Daughter Joanne Vermette and Deborah Thompson. 18 grandchildren.  A host of many great – grandchildren, great great – grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

 In addition to her parents Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Herbert Spears of 42 years, her siblings, son in-laws Ron Vermette and Theodore Thompson and grandson Andy Spears.

 Family funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday March14, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Heieck – Pelc Funeral Home, LLC 42 E. Genesee St. with family calling hour prior to her service at 10:00 am. Marilyn will be entomb with her husband Herbert in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum
