Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Pelc
Betty passed away on St. Patrick’s Day in the presence of her children at Finger Lakes Center for Living.
Mrs. Pelc was born in Auburn on August 31, 1922 the daughter of the late Charles and Coletta Morrissey Peacock. She was a graduate of Central High School class of 1939.
Betty enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking and especially being a Mom and Grandma. She also looked forward to traveling with her daughter to Williamsburg, Vermont and New York City. Betty was passionate about reading and encouraged her children and grandchildren to enjoy books.
Surviving Betty are her loving children: Terry and Suzanne ( Sue) Pelc, her two grandchildren Tim Pelc and Katie (Pelc) Galluzzo and her husband Christopher. In addition, Betty is survived by two sisters Margie Zelehowsky and Eloise Seitler and a brother Ronald Peacock and several nephews and nieces.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Stanley R. Pelc, brother Harry Peacock, daughter –in-law Beverly Pelc, a niece Diana Gulbe and nephew Greg Zelehowsky.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday Match 20, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. in the Heieck – Pelc Funeral Home, LLC 42 E. Genesee St. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Friday March 21, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Church with Fr. Louis Vasile as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fleming.
The family of Betty would like thank the staff at Finger Lakes Center of Living for her wonderful care and compassion while being a resident at the facility.
