Nicholas Newert, 42, found his peace, Sunday, September 7th, after a brief illness.
Nick was born in Auburn, the son of David and Lynn Morhiser Newert. Nick was a life resident of Auburn. He was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse as a Client Tech. Analyst.
Those that were fortunate enough to have known him will remember his gentle nature, kind heart, and incomparable razor-sharp wit. The world is a much less funny place without Nick in it. As his short time with us drew near its end, Nick spoke fondly of the wisdom the late musician Warren Zevon imparted to the world for a life well lived, “Enjoy every sandwich.”
Nick is survived by his parents, David and Lynn Newert of Auburn, brothers Joshua (Marisa) Newert, of Fairport, NY, and Craig Newert, of Auburn; and cousin by blood, sister by heart, Amanda Sayles, of Weedsport. He also leaves behind three nephews; Samuel, Matthew, and Oskar Chase; a niece, Julia Muldoon; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and innumerable friends across the country and around the world, including his close friend and former spouse, Kristin Muldoon-Newert. Perhaps most beloved in Nick’s heart, he is survived and missed by his two cats and cuddle buddies, Jake and Elwood.
