Peter Jurczak

Peter Jurczak, 93, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 15, 2024. A life resident of Auburn and Throop. Peter was born on June 21, 1931, the son of the late Tilly and John Jurczak.

Peter entered the US Navy in October 1948 and served until September 1952. He served on the USS New Jersey during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, Peter worked construction until becoming a Corrections Officer in 1962 before retiring in 1989. He was a communicant of St. Hyacinth’s Church and a member of the SK Post 1324.

Peter is survived by his wife of 65 years, Florence, his daughter Diane Jurczak and the light of his life his grandsons, Peter Dylan Prue and Holden Michael Prue and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by an infant son Peter, brothers William, John Jr. and Thomas Jurczak and his sisters Anne Farrell, Helen VanFleet, Julia Gleason and Sophie Jurczak.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday Sept. 19, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. in the Heieck-Pelc Funeral Home, LLC 48 South St. A Mass of Christian burial will offered on Friday Sept. 20, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Hyacinth Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with military honors will be accorded.
