Richard F. Wawro, 44, son of Richard and Sheila Wawro of Auburn, N.Y. was called to heaven on Thursday, December 11, 2014.

Richie was born in Auburn and was a member of St. Mary’s Parish. He was a graduate of Auburn High School and attended Cayuga Community College. He owned and operated “ Cardboard Heroes “ on State Street. He also worked for Options For Independence, and was an active advocate for the physically handicapped. Richie was a published author of poetry.

Besides his parents, Richie is survived by his siblings: Patty (Mark) Smith, Debbie (Lenny) Kimball, David Wawro and Sharon (Robert) Fasce, nieces/nephews: Missy (Steve) Sevier and Candy Smith, Robbie Gross, Jr., Amanda and Jessica Kimball, Bethany, Nicole and Andrew Wawro, Christopher, Matthew and Nicholas Fasce, along with 1 great-nephew, Garrett Sevier, 2 great-nieces: Emma Smith-Dennis and Grace Sevier, and his loving godfather Michael Panek and godmother Virginia Pelc.

Awaiting him were his 4 infant brothers: Richard, David, Richard and Stanley, Grandpa & Grandma Wawro, Grandpa & Grandma Panek, and most recently his beloved sister-in-law, Janet Wawro.

Forever, Richie will be remembered for his love of Star Wars, his infectious laughter, his outgoing generosity, his kindness towards others, his love for his family and friends and above all, his unshaken faith in God.

He touched those he met in endless ways that will impact a lifetime. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, especially his faithful companion, Padme`, his dog.

In lieu of flowers, give a physically challenged person a smile as Richie has taught us. Donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his name.

May The Force Be with You!
