Ronald J LaFrance of Weedsport (Evergreen) passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Auburn Community Hospital due to complications from COVID. Ron was born in Syracuse and grew up in Baldwinsville, New York. Ron was employed as a young man for The Roofers Union and then started his career at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Plant as Fire Chief, retiring in 2001. Ron had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed playing cards, dice, and board games, and looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. Ron proudly spent much of his adult life volunteering in different fire departments and EMS services, always willing to help others. 
Ron is predeceased by a son, Christopher LaFrance, parents, Raymond and Donna LaFrance, and brothers Daniel and Albert LaFrance. 
Ron is survived by his son Martin LaFrance (Jolene),Grandchildren Jocelyn and Christopher LaFrance, siblings Joann Holcraft (Carl), Donna Alfieri (Bill), and Christine Levine (Paul), former wife, Karen LaFrance, and many other family and friends. 
A celebration of Ron's life will be held Saturday 08/28/21 from 12pm - 3pm at Weedsport Masonic Lodge, 2803 State Route 31, Weedsport, New York
Burial will be private.
