Sandra Ann "Sandy" Colella

Sandra Ann "Sandy" Colella, 86, a life-long resident of Auburn, NY, passed away peacefully from natural causes on November 18, 2023.

Born in Auburn on August 2, 1937, Sandy was known for her kindness, love, and thoughtfulness. She was a gentle soul, always extending a helping hand to those around her. She enjoyed having fun at family gatherings, and particularly enjoyed games of chance while visiting the casino. 

Sandy leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years, Albert Colella; sisters Dee Dee Schlappi and Lori Dawson of Wenatchee, WA; brothers Mike Ness of Enola, PA and Ray Ness, Jr. of Mechanicsburg, Pa, and children Deborah Spence and Charles Shutter of Auburn. She was also a proud grandmother, and was especially close to Jason Shutter of Clay, NY, her grandson who brought immense joy into her life. In addition, she was a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Sandy's professional life was marked by her dedication to those in need. She worked as a Home Health Aide for the Cayuga County Department of Social Services. Her compassion for her clients was evident in the care she provided.

Sandy was a warm and generous spirit whose memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and in the many lives she touched during her lifetime.
