Susan C. Jenner, affectionately known as Sue, passed away peacefully in Syracuse, New York,
on August 1, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born on November 11, 1944, in Auburn, New
York.
Susan was the cherished wife of Gerald F. Jenner, with whom she shared over 50 wonderful
years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard W. Harkness and Susan Harkness
(Kreydatus), and her sister Ann Marie Allen. She is survived by her beloved brothers Donald
Harkness (Donna), Howard J. Harkness (Peg), and William Harkness, and her dear sister
Barbara Bass.
Susan leaves behind a loving extended family, including Gerald's children: Louise Godfrey, Linda
Laquier, and Scott Jenner (Mary Jo), along with their respective children. She also leaves behind
several fondly remembered nieces and nephews. Her family will always remember her as a
loving and supportive figure, always present in their lives.
A proud alumna of Port Byron Central School, Susan graduated with the class of 1962. She
carried the skills and knowledge she acquired there into her professional life. Susan dedicated
many years of her life to the Port Byron Shopping Guide, where she served as a clerk and
secretary.
Susan had a zest for life and a passion for the simple pleasures. She had an impressive
collection of salt and pepper shakers, each one with its own unique story. Susan also found joy
in baking cakes, a hobby that brought sweetness not just to her life, but also to the lives of those
lucky enough to taste her delicious creations. Susan was a regular customer at local Dollar
stores, spending hours browsing and finding joy in the treasures she discovered.
Susan's life was marked by her kindness, her sense of humor, and her unwavering dedication to
her loved ones. She was a beacon of strength and positivity, always ready with a comforting
word or a warm smile. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit lives on
through the memories she leaves behind.
Her life may have ended, but her legacy of love, resilience, and positivity endures. She will be
deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. May Susan C. Jenner, our beloved
