Virginia Monroe Obituary

Virginia L. Monroe, 83, of Auburn passed away unexpectedly Saturday April 11, 2020 in Auburn Community Hospital – ER.

Virginia was born in Auburn the daughter of the late Edward and Amy Spearing O’Connor. She received her AAS degree in Accounting from Auburn Community College.  Virginia was a retired employee of the Auburn Enlarged School District. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. Her favorite pass time was collecting Angels; pins, plates and anything that dealt with angles.

Mrs. Monroe is survived by her husband David Monroe, her son Steven Smith, her daughters Deborah Conner (Thomas), Cindy Cooper, Joan Monroe, Linda Wilcox Croger and Connie Manzell, Sisters Peggy Klingerman, Kathleen Davis,  Grandchildren,  Stacy, Jim, Tara, Sean, Jason, Stephanie, Steven and Austin and several Great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was predeceased by her parents, daughter Susan Oliver, Son Richard “Rick” O’Connor, Grandson Kristopher Cooper, siblings Patricia Costello and James O’Connor.

A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Mary’s Church on Saturday June 20, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.,. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers contributions can made to SPCA of CNY in memory of Mrs. Virginia Monroe.
