Virginia Mae White, 97, passed away on October 7, 2024 at The Commons on Saint Anthony. Surrounded by loving family and staff for the past several years, Virginia was comfortable and happy while living with the ill effects of dementia.
Born and raised in Auburn, Virginia met the man of her dreams while working at Firth Carpet. They lived together happily for 60 years of marriage while raising a family of five children. It was a wonderful life, full of family and friends, and memories.
Virginia is survived by her five children, Linda (William) MacKay, Nancy (Raymond) Slayton, James (Kathleen) White, Mark (Terry) White, and Christopher (Suzanne) White, with twelve grandchildren and twenty- five great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Brothers include William (Joan) Moore, and James (Linda) Moore.
Virginia is pre-deceased by her loving, husband Gordon, and her brother Robert (June) Moore.
Calling hours will be Thursday, October 10, at Heieck - Pelc Funeral Home, LLC, 48 South St. Auburn. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 11, at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Virginia’s name may be sent to Westminster Presbyterian Church at 17 William St., Auburn, NY or to a charity of your choice.
